Independence Campout

We decided to hit the road before Shawn heads back to school. We went camping around the Kansas City Area with our friends the Tolboe's and saw some church history sites.

Far West - Haun's Mill - Shawn cooking dutch oven cobbler

The Community of Christ Temple - kinda crazy! Liberty Jail and the valley of Adam-ondi-Ahman were some of our favorite stops.

Because it is the middle of July it was pretty humid and hot, other than that we had a great trip!

Sam's Birthday Cake - He had a Car's Birthday, and was able to have two parties - one in Idaho and one in Iowa. He got a bunch of "Cars" toys, and all sorts of other goodies.

Shawn's Good Friend Mitt Romney - he was in our local Waukee 4th of July Parade, and Shawn took advantage of the opportunity to shake his hand. Don't you love Mormon Celebrities?
